Pure Water Filtration System

In our continuing drive to improve the product quality and range of products we are able to process, we have recently invested in a Reverse Osmosis Water Filtration System. To enhance the cleaning of the glass during the manufacturing process and to allow Clayton Glass to process soft coated low e sealed units on all of our production lines.

The equipment has been installed by Lubron (UK), one of the UK’s leading water technologies business, on all three sealed unit lines and the toughening production line, improving the quality of the water used to wash the glass through out the entire operation.                                                                                                                                                                                                      Tests have already been carried out showing an improvement in the water quality from 180 to just 20 microsiemens. A nine fold improvement in the purity of the water.

This standard of water quality has eliminated the possibility of water marks inside the                    cavity of sealed units, thus improving our rejection rates by 10%.

In addition to the improved quality of our products, the use of this water technology, allows Clayton Glass to offer soft coated low e sealed units; and achieving a u-value of 1.1, or a BFRC (link to Window Energy Ratings) energy rating of “A”.
