Following its strong start to 2006, last week (wk ending 30 April) saw a unique double sales record for Clayton Glass as the company ramps up output in this challenging year.
10,936 individual bespoke products were delivered to our customers in week 17, a total invoice value of £172,216 giving the company its highest ever sales week in 50 years of trading. This compares to £124K for the same period last year, showing sales growth of 39% in 12 months. In the same five day period, order intake was 11,160 products at £179,281. Orders placed with Clayton Glass therefore also topped all previous weekly records, with the company demonstrating enviable growth in a tough market.
Perhaps most pleasing of all however is the maintenance of service and quality performance over this period. Unlike many other sealed unit manufacturers, Clayton Glass only takes orders for what it is capable of delivering on time, and to the right levels of quality. Faced with these demanding output levels, the manufacturing and despatch teams within the company have duly stepped up to the challenge. Across nearly 11,000 products, many of which on short or next day lead times just 30 failed their due date. Just 55 of these products were broken, damaged or rejected.
In these busiest of times therefore, on time in full was maintained at 99.7%, and first time right was 99.49%, the highest in fact this year and proving Clayton Glass has the strength and depth that other manufacturers simple do not.
With 16 new accounts year to date, equivalent to one new customer every week it will not be long before these records are themselves surpassed. Throughout these exciting times we will continue to uphold our pledge to offer new and existing customers the very best in quality, service and value for money.
