New Kite mark Achieved

Clayton Marks the Change

Clayton Glass becomes one of the first companies to gain certification to achieve the conversion from BS 6206 to EN 12600...

Big changes for toughened glass manufacturers sees the kite mark scheme for safety glass changing to reflect the recently published European standards EN 12600, EN 12150. This will replace BS 6206. This change to the kite mark scheme places responsibility within the industry   to have the required technical evidence to support the necessary compliance with the construction product directive and UK building regulations. This new standard also places  more emphasis on in-house factory production control.

The new scheme also brings in changes to the actual marking of the toughened glass. The new mark will read BS EN 12150 class 1. Although Clayton Glass have already achieved this required kite mark standard we will not be using the new marking system until such time as the new requirements and regulations are more widely adopted throughout the glass and glazing industry. However, we envisage doing so within the near future.
